• Wordspy - the word lover's guide to new words.  For when you need to know what a celetoid is, or whether you belong to the pajamahadeen.

• Wordle - for generating extraordinary word clouds from your own text (this one is a summary of my blog).

• Ben Schott's Vocab from the New York Times - a daily update of the new words and phrases that sum up the times we live in. 

• Online word games - I play as Wordsmith and I'm pretty competitive...

• Thesauras, dictionary and quote finder in one handy place.

• The Plain English Campaign's gobbledygook generator - because it's time to revamp and reboot our functional logistical capability.
